Dublin 8 and Bluebell Citizens Information Centre.
What do you need to know?
What does a citizen's information centre do?
Our information centres offer a free service open to everybody. You don't
need to make an appointment you can call in during our opening hours and
talk to one of our information officers.
Do I need to be a citizen to use the centre?
No, the Citizens Information Centre is open to everybody, free of charge.
If you have just arrived in Ireland we can tell you about your rights and
entitlements and offer information and assistance on a range of issues such
as accommodation and health services in Ireland.
Is it confidential?
Our service is completely confidential. We won't disclose anything you
tell
us onto any other groups, such as government agencies, social welfare
offices or family members. This also means that we won't pass your contact
details on to anybody else without your permission.
What kind of information do you give out?
We provide information on a huge range of topics including your rights and
entitlements, social welfare, local services, employment rights, housing
issues and if we don't have the information you need, we'll help you find
someone who does.
Do you do anything else?
We also provide lower and higher level advocacy services. This means that
we may work with you, or on your behalf to solve ongoing or once off issues
and problems. This can mean helping a client to fill in a form, writing a
letter on their behalf and/or representing somebody in various appeals,
etc.
What if I need very specialised advice?
Regardless of the question, the Citizens Information Service is a good
place to start. If we don't have the exact information you need, we can
probably find it or we can refer you appropriately.
